I'm a Puma fan through and through. Ever since I learned that Puma shoes are PVC free, I buy only Puma sportswear! After seeing this bag I wanted to buy a new pair of Suedes just to check out this clever little bag, it's that cool! And I already have 2 pairs of Suedes!

I absolutely love the clever little bag! It makes sense! It was easier to carry throughout the store - you didn't have a bulky box under your arm. Not to mention, when you are buying shoes for four kids, that's a lot of boxes to carry and a lot of wasted materials to dispose of. And you can re-use it - I keep a pair of tennis shoes in my car just in case I need them, and now I have a clever little bag to keep them in. My son keeps his tennis shoes in the clever little bag - and puts it in his book bag. No more dirt in his book bag. I love the idea, and can't wait to see what else Puma does to help preserve our natural resources and reduce waste. Thanks!!!

How is this clever? They've just switched cardboard out for plastic. Read about Puma's business practices and then decide if they deserve a pat on the back.

Do all of those stats reflect the net impact of subtracting the cardboard and adding the plastic? Or did it suit you guys better just to show the cardboard subtraction? Personally, I rarely discard a shoebox. I think they're far better storage mediums than bags. The video lists all these things that are boxes, but then you throw a bag into the mix. Boxes lay flat, they stack, hold their shape, etc. I think this a failure in the goal toward sustainability. Why not a 100% recycled plastic box. Make it clear, or translucent red or whatever. Slap your logo all over it and congratulate yourselves with a press conference. Or think past marketing objectives, and toward true sustainability and efficiency. Come up with a universal packaging system that can adapted to all industries and their products. Like the transport truck, or the shipping container, or the pallet or oddly enough, the "box". Notice how all those things are reused for as long as possible. Milk crates, plastic totes, even collapsible corrugated cardboard boxes. Implement a deposit system to encourage people to take care of and return these containers. No one throws out trucks or pallets or milk crates or totes because there's a direct financial penalty for doing so. That's what it's all about for us all right? The bottom line.

But you moved from something that was biodegradable and recyclable as a paper product into a bag that is not. You have not created anything sustainable in the process. I can just picture a landfill riddled with your great bags. FACE PALM
